Understanding your rights and responsibilities as a stakeholder of our foundation

At Save the Dream Tanzania, we believe in transparency, accountability, and mutual respect. This document outlines the rights and responsibilities of all stakeholders who interact with our foundation, including donors, volunteers, beneficiaries, partners, and the communities we serve.

Volunteers

Child Protection Commitment

Save the Dream Tanzania has a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse and exploitation. All stakeholders interacting with children must:

  • Adhere to our Child Protection Policy
  • Complete mandatory child protection training
  • Report any concerns immediately
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Never use corporal punishment

Reporting Concerns: If you have concerns about child safety, unethical behavior, or misconduct, please report immediately to our Safeguarding Officer at safeguarding@savethedreamtz.co.tz or call +255 746 511 562.

Feedback and Complaints

Your Right to Feedback

We welcome feedback from all stakeholders. You have the right to:

  • Provide suggestions for improvement
  • Express concerns without fear of retaliation
  • Receive acknowledgment of your feedback
  • Get timely responses to complaints

Our Responsibility

We commit to:

  • Acknowledging all feedback within 5 working days
  • Investigating complaints thoroughly and impartially
  • Providing clear responses and outcomes
  • Using feedback to improve our programs
  • Maintaining confidentiality where requested

You can share feedback through multiple channels:

  • Suggestion Box: Available at our offices and program sites
  • In Person: Speak with any staff member or volunteer
  • Anonymous Reporting: Through our confidential reporting system

Whistleblower Protection

We protect individuals who report misconduct in good faith. Whistleblowers have the right to:

  • Report concerns confidentially
  • Be protected from retaliation
  • Have concerns investigated thoroughly
  • Receive feedback on outcomes

Data Protection Rights

All stakeholders have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect
  • Access their personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of information (subject to legal requirements)
  • Opt out of communications

Code of Conduct

All stakeholders are expected to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which prohibits:

  • Discrimination, harassment, or bullying
  • Fraud, corruption, or misuse of funds
  • Abuse or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults
  • Conflict of interest without disclosure
  • Misrepresentation of the foundation
  • Confidentiality breaches

Review and Updates

This Rights and Responsibilities document is reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect our evolving practices and legal requirements. Stakeholders will be notified of significant changes.
